About:
Hi, I'm Dianna! I'm a queer Mexican-American writer who loves BTS and loves Kim Namjoon. I love all forms of art and media, and believe that creativity can inspire amazing things! One of my majors in university was Radio-Television-Film and I currently work for a non-profit organization that focuses on inspiring creativity and igniting social change in young people. I also love music for not only how it creates unity among people, but also for how it can inspire others to create, which is what this zine is all about :)
About Role:
I'm the head mod for this project and will be in charge of organizing the zine from start to finish. Along with handling the finances as well as the formatting of the zine itself, I'll also be a support system for contributors by acting as their first point-of-contact. On top of that, I also get to provide any wanted feedback for all writing in the zine. Oh, and I make some graphics, too.
Experience:
I am a mod for three ongoing BTS zines (Re-spect: a Namgi Zine, Harmony: a Yoongi Zine, Mosaic: a MiniMoni Zine) as well as a mod for one zine still in the works! Along with zine mod experience, I have a ton of adminstrator/mod experience from the 10+ fests I've run (including 5 rounds of the Namgi Fic Fest). And, of course, as a huge lover of zines, I've been a contributor to 15+ BTS zines! :)
Regarding finances, I have a ton of experience with group charity donations from various organizations and clubs that I was president of and/or in charge of finances.

About Role:
I'll be in charge of all the artists by giving feedback and just hyping up everyone's pretty pretty art!! I'm here to make everyone feel comfy and loved !! I'll also sometimes be drawing a bit for graphics, so if you spot any tiny Namjoons around that's meee!!
Experience:
I've been a Graphics Mod for Cypher: a Rapline Zine, an Art Mod for BTS Tarot, and am currently an Art Mod for Harmony: a Yoongi Zine and Mosaic: a MiniMoni Zine!! I've also been a contributor for a bunch of other zines !! Plus, I've been married to Namjoon for a while now.

About:
Hi, I'm Mai! I am all about everything art & design, music, and languages. As a fashion design student, I love exploring different artistic mediums of expression. At any given time you will find me either scrolling through reels of cute animals, illustrating, learning a new language, or crying to BTS songs. I am so excited and honoured to be a part of this zine which celebrates Namjoon and his awe-inspiring music!
About Role:
As a general mod for Blue & Violet, I will be helping with social media, Discord, and anything else behind the scenes as needed like organization and graphics! I will also be communicating with contributors to make sure they have a fun time participating in this project :)
Experience:
I am an intern for Re-spect: a Namgi Zine and an administrative mod for Moonbows Zine. I am also a Discord mod for the GVFXarmy server and have participated in multiple projects like the Yet To Come MV collab. I was also a graphic designer for the 2022 Global Army Song Project!

FAQ

What is a zine/fanzine?
A zine is a fanmade booklet/magazine that is a collection of art and/or writing revolving around a particular subject or theme. Blue & Violet in particular is a digital zine, meaning all artwork will be collected into a PDF that will be sent out to contributors and buyers.
Is this zine for-profit or for-charity?
This zine is a charity zine. All proceeds will go towards Plan International, which was voted on by mods and contributors.
What is the theme/point of this zine?
This zine's purpose is to be a collection of art inspired by Namjoon's latest album, Indigo. If you'd like more detail as to what that means regarding what kind of content you're allowed to make, please read the guidelines and rules here!
Do the mods have any experience running zines?
Yes! You can learn more about the mods of this zine here.
Do I have to apply to be in the zine/Do I need to have a portfolio to be in the zine?
Nope! Whether you're a newbie at whatever form of art you're creating or you're as experienced as a wise, old tree, you are welcome! No prior zine experience is necessary and you do not need to apply. All you have to do is fill out the sign-up form and indicate what kind of Indigo-inspired pieces you'd like to create!
Do I need to create original work for the zine or can I submit pieces I've already created and/or posted publicly?
You will need to create original work for the zine, but you can also submit pieces already created and/or posted! You cannot, however, only submit pieces that were not originally made for this zine. So, basically, if you want to be a part of the zine, you do need to create at least one piece that is new!
Can I create different kinds of art for the zine? For example, fanart and fanfiction?
Yes, we welcome and love any and all kinds of art you'd like to make for the zine. Just keep in mind that each contributor will be allotted only 10 pages in the zine. And if you have any questions about whether or not your art qualifies, don't hesitate to ask us!
Once the zine is completed, do I retain the rights to my work?
Yes, absolutely! We do ask that while the zine is still actively going that you do not share, post, or sell your work. The zine will be sent out to everyone on December 2nd, which is when you'll be free to post your piece(s)! But, yes, you will retain all rights to your work upon the zine's completion and the zine will not retain its rights to distribute your work.
How will contributors and mods communicate/keep in contact?
Our main mode of contact is through email and Discord. We require that you have an email account in order to participate. We also highly recommend having a Discord account so you can join our zine's server as well, but it isn't necessary. All announcements and communication made in the server will also be sent out as emails. :) Also, any important or sensitive information (such as emails or personal info) will remain completely confidential from other contributors; only the mod team will be able to view this information.
How can I know to trust you with the finances of the zine?
We realize there has been uptick in certain zines scamming the contributors and buyers out of their time and money, but we want to assure you that will not happen here! The finances for Blue & Violet will be handled entirely by the head mod, Dianna @polyjoon, a passionate ARMY and Namjoon fan who will be completely transparent with the other mods, contributors, and buyers/donators during the entire pre-order process! If you still feel uncertain, feel free to check out Dianna's socials, which you can find here.
Will contributors receive a free copy of the zine?
Yes! <3
Are minors allowed to participate?
Yes, we welcome creators of any age! In the sign-up form, there will be a section where minors will need to indicate that they are under the age of 18 years old. This is for the mods to know so we can make sure all our minors stay safe while working with us on our zine!
Am I allowed to drop out if something happens where I can no longer contribute to the zine?
Yes, you may drop out of the zine at any time if needed. We just ask that you inform us ASAP so that we know what's going on. :)
Am I allowed to print a physical copy of the zine after I receive the digital PDF?
Yes, you are allowed to print out the zine for yourself, but you are not allowed to sell or redistribute any physical copies to others! If you print out the zine, it must solely be for yourself.

- Poetry writers are given 10 pages. Once again, this could be 1 long 10-page poem or 10 1-page poems.
- You may sign up to create multiple different kinds of pieces, but you will still only be given 10 pages to work with. If you'd like to mix different kinds of art, you are absolutely free to do so!
